Nicole Page

Nicole Page is a graduate of Cornell University (B.A., with academic distinction, 1990) and the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., 1993). Ms. Page’s practice areas include media and entertainment law, intellectual property and employment. She has broad experience in providing advice with respect to all aspects of motion picture, television and new media productions, and in counseling authors, screenwriters, creative personnel, entertainment industry executives, photographers, filmmakers and feature film and television producers concerning all facets of their work. She regularly serves as production counsel for film and television productions. Ms. Page also works with many authors in connection with their collaboration, literary agent and publishing agreements. Her extensive intellectual property practice includes advice on protection and exploitation of copyrights and trademarks across multi-media platforms and working with clients in connection with cross-platform branding and licensing. In addition, Ms. Page works with clients to structure employment arrangements and advises on a wide array of labor and employment matters.

Ms. Page regularly lectures and writes on legal issues in the arts and media. She has appeared on panels at SXSW, Slamdance, The Hamptons International Film Festival, The World Congress of Science and Factual Producers, IFP and RealScreen, among other festivals and conferences. Ms. Page also produces a Business and Legal Seminar Series for New York Women in Film and Television covering topics including production company formation and management, copyright and fair use and various employment issues. Ms. Page also writes on topical legal issues facing the media and entertainment industries. Her most recent article, The Bottom Line on the Firing Line, appeared as a feature in the November/ December 2010 issue of The Financial Manager.

Ms. Page has worked on many films including The Redemption of General Butt Naked; The Witness: From the Balcony of Room 306 (2009 Academy Award® Nomination for Best Short Documentary; 2010 Emmy Award® Nomination for Outstanding Historical Programming Long Form); Miss Nobody; The Family Tree; Crooked Arrows; A Walk to Beautiful (2009 Emmy Award® for Outstanding Informational Programming- Long Form); Dreamriders; The Tiger Next Door; Beauty Mark; The Moment; I Was a Teenage Feminist; Mr. Right; Press On; Word Wars; Rhythm of the Saints; State of Denial and Grateful Dawg. Ms. Page also provides business affairs and production legal services for numerous television series.

Ms. Page is a Board Member of Women Make Movies. She is also a member of New York Women in Film and Television, the Independent Feature Project and the Advertising Photographers Association. Ms. Page is admitted to practice in New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Ms. Page is a Partner of the Firm.
